WELCOME TO ST. PETER'S PARISH

Welcome to the official web site of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, located in Woodbridge, Ontario, in the Archdiocese of Toronto guided with spiritual direction from the Order of Friars Minor, Immaculate Conception Province.

Our faith community here at St. Peter's parish is alive and vibrant, eager to not only embrace the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but to live it and share it with others. My desire and my hope is that this web site and the information contained here, may better serve your needs and to bring you just a little closer together with all of us.

At this site, you will find information about Catholic spirituality, our social outreach, Christian formation, our devotions, our missionary efforts, the liturgy, schedules and more, all included to help new and current members to grow in your knowledge and understanding of our Catholic faith and our parish community.

Pope Benedict XVI has designated June 19, 2009 - June 19, 2010 as the "Year For Priests," on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the death of St. John Mary Vianney, the holy Curé d'Ars, a shining model of a Pastor totally dedicated to the service of the people of God. Granted by the Holy Father during this Year For Priests are indulgences for both the priesthood and the lay faithful, the information of which has been published by the Offices of The Apostolic Penitentiary's Decree, "Special Indulgence for the Year for Priests."

I encourage everyone to learn more about the Cure d'Ars, an extraordinary saint, whose life was one of tireless prayer and continual penitence, whose untiring devotion to the Sacrament of Reconciliation, personal mortifications and sacrifice, obtained the conversion of sinners, a man who sought to conform his heart and life to Christ, a man who became the "model of all Catholic priests."

The vision of St. Peter’s Parish, in union with the See of Rome and under the authority of the Archdiocese of Toronto, is to be faithful disciples of Christ and to commit ourselves to allow God to lead us to holiness of life by the following: living as Eucharistic people who seek a deeper relationship with God, spreading the Gospel by word and action, passing the faith at every stage in life, serving as ambassadors of charity, justice and peace and striving to be agents of love and forgiveness in our parish and community.

I pray that all of us, wherever we may find ourselves at this moment, may be open to the boundless blessings that God our Father has in store for all "those who love Him". In the name of all of us here at Saint Peter's parish, be at peace with God. I am,

Your Humble Brother In Christ,

Father Michael Corcione, ofm
Pastor
